We are CLOSED for additional applications at this time!

How does this program work?

All spay/neuter surgeries are done by a licensed experienced veterinarian at IndyHumane’s Downtown Clinic at 456 N. Holmes Avenue.  Surgery appointments are scheduled on Tuesdays through Fridays.  There are NO weekend or holiday hours.

Dog drop off is always at 7:30 a.m. and cat drop off is at 8:00 a.m. and pickup is 3:30 p.m. (same day) for both dogs and 4:00 p.m. for cats.   It is all curbside which means they come to your car for the pet(s).  If a cat is being ear tipped, then pickup is at 4:30 p.m.

Is there a cost?

Because you must qualify for our program by showing financial need, the surgeries and vaccines are likely free. This could vary depending on our financial situation. We do appreciate donations which go directly to “pay it forward” to other pets.

What is included?

Spay or neuter, nail trim, 72 hour pain shot for cats and pain meds for dogs, a cone (e-collar), and vaccines if needed. We offer rabies (Indiana State Law) and FVRCP cat booster or DAPP which is the dog booster against Distemper/Parvo. For more information about vaccines, please click this link and scroll to the bottom of the page.  https://hoosierfix.com/?page_id=857

What does HF not do?

Our program and this clinic is for healthy pets for spay/neuter only.  If your pet is injured or sick, he/she needs to see a full-service veterinarian first.

We are also not scheduling services to the following breeds: English Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Pekinese. For these dogs, it is best to use a full-service veterinarian in case of the need for further care.

If your dog is overly aggressive to humans, it would be best to use a full-service clinic for everyone’s safety.
