Dog rescues are often by county (must have an ID with an address for a particular county) and some are breed or size restrictive.
Appointments are REQUIRED by ALL (except for Hamilton County Humane which is only for Hamilton County residents).

If you would like to request intake assistance, please email indycares@indy.gov with the following information so our team can review your request and determine next steps: your full name, phone number, home address, the pet’s name, species and breed, age, sex, the reason for surrender, and where the animal was adopted, purchased, or otherwise obtained.
Providing complete and accurate information allows us to assess urgency, legal requirements, and available options as efficiently as possible.
